Easy access to the filters, pump and components! We Provide you with easy access to the filter at the bottom of the stream (where the debris collects) and before the pump and the reservoir. With a pondless system, all of the debris collects in the rock pit reservoir before the pump and any mechanical filtering takes place afterwards at the top of the stream where there is no debris!
With a Vanishing Water system you won't be disturbing your water feature to access the pump because the pump chamber outside of the water feature.

Cleaning the filters is as easy as opening the top access port and removing the filter baskets, empty the debris and wash the screens, drop them back into place and secure the lid. It's that simple.
Accessing the pump and other hardware in the filter tank is convenient as well. Remove the two stainless steel bolts that hold the lid in place and the single bolt under the lid that secures the filter carriage. Pull the filter baskets and the carriage up and you've got complete access to the pump chamber and all components. If you block the pond water intake and turn off the auto-fill (if one is connected), you can pump the tank nearly dry to help facilitate service. When finished, reverse the process and you're back in business.

A standard filter is included with your pond or waterfall kit. You may purchase additional screens that are easily interchanged. A tighter mesh will capture fine debris (Hemlock needles, for example) that may plug up a small fountain pump, while a coarser mesh will allow some debris and greater water flow for systems with larger, less sensitive pumps. You may find that the standard mesh is fine for most of the year, but an alternative is better in autumn. A Vanishing Water system that has tandem filters can utilize a finer mesh screen in front, with a coarser one in the rear; if the first one gets too full with debris between servicing, the water will spill into the second. If the second filter gets too full as well, the pump will empty the tank and shut off (with an optional PS1 shut-off switch) and then cycle between on and off, indicating a need for service.
