This device is used extensively for wastewater and sump pumps. It shuts off the pump when the water level goes too low and turns it back on when the water is filled back up. This way the pump is not running dry and burning up its bearings. You can adjust the water level settings by taking it out of the tank so that you don't have to do it inside of the tank. The pump cord plugs into this device, which then plugs into the outlet. Many people make a big deal about purchasing a high quality pump with a grand warranty and then put it in a poor environment. It's nice to have your pump covered on a warranty but it is still a big hassle removing it, shipping it back, receiving it, and reinstalling it. It is far better to take a good reputable pump and place it in a good environment and buy a pump low-level shut-off switch to protect it. Otherwise, be very careful to make sure your system always has water. This is why we recommend going bigger on the size of your reservoir. 120v 13 amps...
