How a Vanishing Water System Works:
Water from the tank is pumped to the top of the stream and then flows back down over a fixed skimmer and into the tank. When the pump is turned off all the water from the stream returns to into the tank.

Eventually the water stops flowing over the top of the fixed skimmer and drains through a small opening in the skimmer. This opening is located below the rock level on the skimmer.

Why A Vanishing Water System?
1. You can turn it off so that there is no water for small children to fall into.
2. It requires far less maintenance than a pond. You won't be applying different treatments to the water to keep it clear, or to eliminate string algae. If you don't think this is an issue with a traditional pond, just look at all of the pond treatments available on the market!
3. You will be able to operate it when you want, and turn it off to save energy and prolong the pump life.
4. It collects and stores rainwater to replenish water lost to evaporation. In fact, you'll lose less water to evaporation because it will not be running all of the time!
